Her Dress, Her Symbol: Antea Revisited
A group exhibition curated by Nomi Tannhauser and Rita Mendes-Flohr

With 100 participants, taking place in two adjacent Jerusalem galleries – Agripas 12 and Marie, the exhibit examines the subject of the dress in a gender perspective, while recalling a unique phenomenon in the Israeli art scene, the work of the Antea Gallery for feminist art.

NOMI'S ARTWORK AT THE EIN HAROD MUSEUM OF ART COLLECTION

The Ein Harod Museum of Art, has chosen to include two of Nomi Tannhauser's paintings in their permanent collection. The chosen paintings are part of the 'Shibolet' series of works, an exhibit that took place in this museum in 2016. This exhibit was curated by Yaniv Shapira who is today the museum's director. 

ART HERSTORY
A SOLO EXHIBITION AT HANINA GALLERY

In November 2017 Nomi Tannhauser launched a One Woman show compiled solely of plasticine works. This  body of work, curated by Yakir Segev and consisting of 70 artworks, was exhibited at Hanina gallery in Tel Aviv as part of the Tel Aviv 2017 Illustration Week. Along with the show Tannhauser also  launched an Artists' Book (designed and produced by Yakir Segev). Three guest artists were  invited to exhibit their plasticine works In the show, Oree Holban, Hemali Vadalia and Dana Tannhauser.

The exhibition drew much attention, the majority of the works were sold as well as the artists' book. The gallery talks and plasticine workshops that took place during the show attracted many visitors. The show was covered  by an article in Calcalaist - the economic news site from Yedioth Ahronoth.

ASSC OF WOMEN, ART & GENDER RESEARCH

The non-profit organization for the Reseach of Women and Gender in Israel lauched a new "Artist of the Month" project. Nomi Tannhauser's work has been chosen to be the first in this series, making her the July 2016 artist.

2016 STUDENT ART HISTORY MATRICULATION
15 June 2016

 

Nomi's work "Reflection" from 2013 was a subject for analysis for art students in the 2016 Art History Matriculation exams. The students were asked to describe the work using artistic terminology and to explain its underlying meaning.

CINDYRELLA EXHIBITION
15 January 2016

 

The Cindyrella exhibit at Barbur Galllery in Jerusalem was a collaborative exhibit of Nomi Tannhauser and Adva Drori after the work of the legendary photographer Cindy Sherman. It opened on 17 December 2015 and came down on 15 January 2016. This unique exhibit attracted hundreds of visitors and received wonderful feedback. See reviews here and here.

NEW PAINTINGS

Nomi Tannhauser is working on a series of paintings in homage to Lucian Freud. This is an ongoing project that tries to analyze Freud's work as well as give them a new interpretation. 

BEIT ZIFER ARCHIVE INVITATION

Nomi's work will be documented and archived in entirety by the Beit Zifer Library of Tel Aviv University. It will be represented both in their general files as well as in the section "Women's Art and Feminism in Art", due to her deep involvement in this subject matter.Read the enclosed letter of appreciation and thanks to learn more about her notable contribution.
